Woolen Socks for Winter

I decided to start designing some socks last night and I figured I'd document what I'm doing before I forget.

So far we have:

  1. Chain 5 + 2 for turning. Work 3 dc in the first stitch, 1 dc in the next 3 stitches, and 5 dc in the final stitch. Rotate your work. Work 1 dc in each of the middle 3 foundation chains to begin forming an oval. Place 2 more dc in the last chain and slip stitch to join the round.
  2. Chain 2. Work fpdc in the first stitch. Make a fpdc inc in the next stitch. Work fpdc into each of the next 5 stitches. From here on you will always make fpdc. Work the following over the remaining 9 stitches: {inc one, single, inc one, single, single, single, single, single, inc one}. You are increasing both sides of the foot on the top and underside. Slip stitch to join the round.
  3. Chain 2. Remember all stitches are fpdc and "single" means work a single stitch or don't inc. For this round, {single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc, single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc}. You are increasing both sides of the foot on the top and underside. Slip stitch to join the round.
  4. Chain 2. For this round, {single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc, single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc}. You are increasing both sides of the foot on the top and underside. Slip stitch to join the round.
  5. Chain 2. For this round, {single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc, single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single}. The side with your starting chain 2 is the inner foot. You are increasing only the outer side of the foot on the top and underside. Slip stitch to join the round.
  6. Chain 2. For this round, {single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, inc, single, inc, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single, single}. The side with your starting chain 2 is the inner foot. You are increasing only the outer side of the foot on the top and underside. Slip stitch to join the round.
  7. Chain 2. For this round, just work a single fpdc into each stitch. Slip stitch to join the round.
