On Gratitude

Gratitude is truth-telling. Gratitude is honest. Gratitude is truth-seeking; it makes no room for lies. It has no need to.

Gratitude is a practice of being grounded in reality.
It is not a practice of pessimism, not a practice of optimism, not a practice of ignorance, but reality.
It is acknowledging what contributes to your existence, benefits your living, and fulfils your desires alongside anything else.
It is not a distortion of truth or pretending some truths don't exist.
That is delusion.
That is deception.
And, that is unnecessary.
If you need these kinds of lies or deceit to make a point or continue your pursuit, perhaps consider whether your points or pursuits were valid in the first place. The claims at the base of your arguments may very well have significant degrees of validity and you are taking an unnecessary path out of habit or mimicry. This kind of deception is quite common and often unconscious.
