Early-August, I began collecting gift ideas and images that excite me. One of the images I found was this one

and it made me think of coasters.

I like the circles, concentric circles, I like the grid [the layout makes me see squares surrounding them], and I like the colours. So I decided on coasters.

I picked up a few things from Michael's, a few colours and a hook.

I'd also like to make sleeves, but coasters first.

Chain 4. {Tc, edc, edc}, dc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, dc, *{edc, edc, tc, edc, edc}, dc, dc, hdc, sc, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, dc* until the end, add 2 edc to last stitch, join.
Chain 2. {Dc, hdc}, sc 18, *{hdc, dc, hdc}, sc 18* until the end, hdc into first stitch, join.
Fasten off and weave in.
